Personal Meaning Counselling Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 2026

Our Commitment

I am committed to making Personal Meaning Counselling services accessible, inclusive, and welcoming to all, regardless of ability, neurodiversity, or background.

The Counselling Bothy

  • The bothy has step-free access and onsite parking

  • There is a toilet onsite

  • The bothy is a 19th century building and wheelchair access is not currently possible. If this affects you, please get in touch and we can discuss alternatives

  • The bothy has soft lighting and is in a quiet rural location with minimal background noise other than local wildlife

  • If you have any sensory sensitivities to scents or lighting, please let me know what adjustments might help

  • Blankets, cushions and stimming toys are available for your use. Please also feel free to bring anything that supports you

  • Seating is wingback armchairs with arm rests. A yoga mat is available if you prefer to lie down. Movement during sessions is welcome

  • Assistance and guide dogs are always welcome

Communication and Reasonable Adjustments

  • I can provide information in large print or digital formats on request

  • Sessions can be conducted in person, online, or by telephone

  • I welcome the use of assistive technology during sessions

  • Session structure can be adapted from the typical 50-minute format to include longer or shorter sessions, breaks, or the use of text chat during online sessions

Website Accessibility

This website has been built with accessibility in mind. Text maintains sufficient colour contrast throughout, the site is fully responsive across all devices, navigation is clear and consistent, and all forms include clearly labelled fields.

We plan to add an introductory video to the site in the future. When this is added it will include captions and a text transcript.

Ongoing Commitment

Accessibility is an ongoing process. If you encounter any barriers on this website or within my practice, or if you require an adjustment not listed here, please get in touch and I will do my best to help.

A woman with black hair and purple bangs, wearing a red top and a colorful skirt, standing at the entrance of a stone cottage, smiling. The cottage has a slate roof, stone walls, and a black and white door with a sign above it that says 'Please mind your head.' There is a black metal lantern on the wall, plants in the garden, and decorative red mushrooms.
