Counselling & Psychotherapy

Perhaps you are new to counselling or perhaps you have had previous sessions with a counsellor. Either way, I'm sure you have some questions. There are so many different types of therapists that it can be difficult to know where to start. People usually come to therapy because they are experiencing pain or distress, feeling 'stuck' or just not able to find a way through their worries on their own. Perhaps that is how you are feeling right now.

Life can be tough. You might have experienced a recent loss. Bereavement, the end of a relationship, loss of health, loss of employment. It may be something in your past that is still haunting you. You might be struggling with changes that seem out with your control. It could be those thoughts that keep spiralling until it doesn't seem like there is space for anything else in your head. These are the times when counselling can help.

I believe that the relationship between the client and the counsellor is key to bringing about change. I will be here to listen to you with compassion and without judgement. This will be your time; a safe and confidential space, just for you. Together we will explore whatever is coming up for you in the moment and explore the whole of your experience.

Talking and being absolutely heard can be transformative. It can help you find out new things about yourself, it can help you discover the answers that previously seemed out of reach, and it can help you find your own personal meanings in life. It may just take a couple of sessions; it may be that we work together for significantly longer than that. Each counselling relationship is completely unique, and I will be here to walk alongside you for as long as feels right for you.
